Our extracurricular programme gives secondary students opportunities to explore their interests, discover new talents and develop valuable skills beyond the classroom. Through sport, the arts, debate and collaborative projects, students build confidence, creativity and independence while learning to work with others and contribute to school life.

Description

The Chess Club gives students the opportunity to learn and enjoy the game of chess in a friendly and engaging environment.
Students will learn the rules and strategies of chess, practise through games and challenges, and take part in friendly competitions and tournaments.

Goals

• Develop strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Strengthen concentration and decision-making.
• Learn to plan ahead, analyse possibilities and learn from mistakes.
• Practise good sportsmanship and respect for others.

Literature & Debate

Description

The Literature and Debate Club combines reading and discussion with debate and public speaking. Students will explore engaging stories, characters, themes, and moral questions, then connect them to real-world issues through debates, mock trials, and interactive activities. The club encourages students to read critically, express their ideas, and engage respectfully with different perspectives.

Goals

• Strengthen reading comprehension and critical thinking.
• Analyse texts and support ideas with evidence.
• Develop argumentation, persuasive writing and confident communication.
• Build teamwork and leadership while listening respectfully to different perspectives.

Description

The Embroidery Club introduces students to a range of textile techniques, including hand embroidery, decorative stitching, fabric manipulation, appliqué and basic fabric design. In a relaxed, creative environment, students experiment with colours, patterns, textures and materials to develop their own practical projects.

Description

Open to students of all ages, the Enterprise Club explores how businesses work and how ideas become products or services. Students learn the basics of entrepreneurship as they research, design and develop an idea that could be offered within the school or local community.

Goals

• Learn how to turn ideas into products or services.
• Understand basic business concepts, including marketing and decision-making.
• Develop teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Build confidence in presenting ideas and encourage creative, responsible entrepreneurship.

Film & Documentary • Led by David

Description

The Film & Documentary Club explores the creative process of making short films and documentaries. Students collaborate on projects involving scriptwriting, storytelling, filming, music production and video editing, using both filmed and AI-generated footage. Students may join as regular members or contribute to specific aspects of a project.

Goals

• Develop storytelling and scriptwriting skills.
• Explore camera work, music production and video editing.
• Gain practical experience of collaborative film production.
• Contribute individual creative skills to a shared project.

In the Mind — Psychology • Led by Lamiaa

Description

In the Mind introduces students to key concepts in psychology, including memory, perception, learning and social behaviour. Through interactive activities and simple experiments, students explore how psychology relates to everyday life. The club also offers an introduction for those considering further study in IGCSE Psychology.

Description

Level Up is a personal development club that helps students build confidence, develop a positive mindset and recognise their potential. Through discussions, practical challenges and reflective activities, students explore self-belief, resilience, aspirations and future opportunities in a supportive environment.

Description

Le club Mindfulness propose aux élèves de découvrir la pleine conscience et ses bienfaits au quotidien. À travers des activités simples et pratiques, ils apprennent à observer leurs pensées, leurs émotions et leurs sensations. Le club encourage une meilleure connaissance de soi et des relations plus positives avec les autres.

Activité proposée en français.

• Comprendre la pleine conscience et apprendre à observer ses pensées, ses émotions et ses sensations sans jugement.
• Acquérir des outils pour mieux gérer le stress, l’anxiété et les émotions fortes.

Description

The MUN Club introduces students to Model United Nations through simulated UN conferences. Taking on the roles of representatives from different countries, students research global issues, debate different perspectives and work together to find solutions through diplomacy and negotiation.

• Strengthen debating, negotiation and teamwork skills.
• Deepen understanding of global issues and international relations.
• Build confidence in presenting and defending ideas respectfully.

Description

The Music Club offers a creative space for students of all levels to sing, play instruments and make music together. Students learn and rehearse songs, develop their musical skills and prepare performances for school events and celebrations.

Description

The Podcast Club is a student-led initiative for Sixth Form students, produced in partnership with the film and media team. Students research, discuss and host episodes exploring global affairs, societal issues, ethics and youth culture, while collaborating with student videographers on multi-camera filming, sound recording and editing.

Goals

• Develop research and critical thinking skills.
• Strengthen public speaking, interviewing and respectful debate.
• Gain practical experience in media production and broadcasting.
• Build collaboration skills through shared editorial and technical projects.

Description

Over 10–12 weeks, students in Years 7–13 develop the skills to speak clearly and confidently. Through short speeches, debates, impromptu speaking and practical challenges, they explore presentation structure, voice and intonation, varied sentence structures, persuasive techniques and effective body language.

• Organise and present ideas clearly and persuasively.
• Use voice, intonation and body language effectively.
• Build confidence in engaging an audience.
• Develop quick thinking through debates and impromptu speaking.

Description

The University Preparation Club supports students preparing for university admissions tests, particularly the TMUA and SAT. Through targeted practice and challenging mathematical problems, students strengthen their reasoning and develop strategies for approaching unfamiliar questions.

Goals

• Strengthen mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
• Develop effective examination techniques.
• Improve time management when working through test questions.
• Approach unfamiliar problems with greater confidence and accuracy.

Ball Games • Led by Wahiba

Description

The Ball Games Club gives students the opportunity to develop their football and volleyball skills in a positive, inclusive environment.
Sessions combine technical practice, small-sided games and challenges adapted to different abilities and experience levels, encouraging students to enjoy being active and working together.

Goals

• Improve technical skills, tactical awareness and physical fitness.
• Develop teamwork, communication and leadership.
• Demonstrate respect and fair play.
• Build confidence as responsible and effective team players.
