THE PROGRESSIVE PROGRAM
LOWER SECONDARY: 11 TO 14 YEARS
ARABIC
Lower Secondary Arabic opens doors to a rich and diverse culture, connects pupils to a global community, and provides them with valuable linguistic skills. EMC believes that learning Arabic is a valuable opportunity for pupils to develop language skills, cultural understanding, and a connection to the rich Arabic and Moroccan heritage. The Arabic curriculum is designed to foster pupils’ proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening in the Arabic language.
Key aspects of the Lower Secondary Arabic curriculum include:
Language Skills: Pupils will develop their language skills by focusing on reading, writing, speaking, and listening. They will learn Arabic vocabulary, sentence structures, grammar rules, and pronunciation. Through engaging activities and authentic texts, pupils enhance their reading comprehension, writing skills, and ability to communicate effectively in Arabic.
Arabic Culture: Learning Arabic also includes an exploration of the cultural aspects associated with the Arabic-speaking world. Pupils gain an understanding of the traditions, customs, history, literature, and art of Arabic-speaking countries. This cultural awareness fosters intercultural understanding, promotes respect for diversity, and broadens pupils' perspectives.
